This home was empty when I came to meet my client. She was starting from scratch and had begun purchasing furniture, though was very ambivalent about her choices. Luckily, we were able to cancel her purchases and start over. She had started with cream leather, Art Deco styled couches. After a lot talking, research and shopping, we ended with Mid-Century modern inspired furnishings that better suited both my clients temperament, lifestyle and home. In the process, I taught her how to shop, how to mix fabrics and textures. I helped her hone her style, broaden her point of view and get excited about her new home. She went from indecisive and confused to self assured, radiant and confident.

Creating an environment with a client takes a lot of conversation. You have to get to know them, what they like, where their head is at, whether they are up for suggestion and expanding their minds to embrace something new. After much discussion about how to find your style, I mentioned mixing styles like traditional and East Indian, my client says, "Oh, I like East Indian Furniture!" The result is below, simple and easy.
