STAGING
What is staging? It is decluttering and depersonalizing a home so that someone new can image themselves, their furniture and their life, inside a home that you are moving away from. First impressions are very important! A happy looking and feeling home tends to sell itself.
Many sellers take may take it personally when their agent suggests decluttering, depersonalizing or updating a home. Decluttering and depersonalizing a space allows the buyer to imagine themselves moving into the home, rather than swimming through the current owners personality and point of view. It is also a graceful way to begin letting go, so that you can move forward into your new chapter of life. Most staged homes sell faster than those that are not staged. Along with this, minimally updating a home, makes a home relevant to the current times and takes away some of the concern of a buyer that they will have to do a lot of work after they purchase the home.
I utilize the existing furniture and art to give the home a friendly, warm and neutral appeal to those looking for a new home. I also work with sellers and agents to make the exterior of the home and landscaping look clean, cared for and appealing.
Below is a slide show of a home I recently staged. There are BEFORE and AFTER pics next to one another.
As you can see, small changes make a big difference.
